Mother's Day weekend is usually reserved for planting flowers and our garden but this year we spent it in St. George. I can't think of a better way to have spent it. It was so relaxing and warm and I would love to make it a yearly tradition.

Last week I got the opportunity to go with my little sister and my parents to go visit my older sister in Michigan. We arrived Friday afternoon in Chicago and went to the Sears Tower and Millenium Park and had dinner. We got lost trying to find the train on the way back and walked around in circles. Saturday morning we went to Navy Pier and did some shopping and had lunch and then drove to Big Rapids. I loved Chicago. I wish we had more time to spend there as there was so much more I wanted to see.

Sunday we went and watched my beautiful and talented niece graduate from high school. I don't know what it is about Pomp and Circumstance that gets me all choked up. Whether it's reminiscing about my own gradition or thinking ahead 3 years from now when my own will graduate, I'm not sure.

Monday - while everyone at home was getting SNOW - we walked the shores of Lake Michigan enjoying 90 degree weather. Who would have thought that I would have to go to Michigan of all places to see sunshine.

The trip was fun and I got to see places I have never seen and although pushing my dad in a wheelchair brought us some VIP treatment, it also posed a lot of challenges. I was ready to come home on Tuesday.
