Bowling

We went bowling last night as a family and I didn't have much fun. Here's why. Years ago I heard someone say, "A mother is only as happy as her saddest child." I've thought about that over the years and wholeheartidly agree. Last night was just an example. The youngest 2 bowled using the guard rails and were doing quite well. My daughter was grinning from ear to ear on how well she was doing. My youngest was having a good time and my husband seemed to be enjoying himself as well. But I decided that my 13 year old was too old to use the guard rails and seeing him get so frustrated and his eyes a little moist from having one gutter ball after another broke my heart.

What a true comment! It is so hard to see your kids sad.
