I have a love/hate relationship with summer. It's FINALLY here but I am struggling to enjoy it as much as I would like to now that it's finally arrived.
I love that it's no longer freezing cold outside but hate driving a vehicle with no A/C when it's 95 degrees outside and the sweat is trickling down my cleavage (is it OK to say cleavage on my family-friendly blog?).
I love being outside when it's about 8:00 at night when it cools down and going for a walk with my husband.
I love that it's light by 6:00 am and I don't have to wear 4 layers of clothing to go running in.
I hate that my kids are still in school.
I love going camping and boating when someone with a boat is nice enough to take us.
I hate that I have to use self tanning lotion because I'm never outside long enough to get some sun and if I were, I would just burn.
I love the flowers and my garden but hate that the weeds are taking control and all I seem to do is pull weeds, weeds and more weeds. And the birds are eating my strawberries.
I love being awakened to the sound of birds (I just don't like them eating my strawberries).
I hate that we are still watering our garden by hand.
I love some of the smells like fresh cut grass and Russian Olive trees.
I hate that I don't have a summer vacation planned yet and my husband is using all his vacation time to work on our yard but I will LOVE having grass in our backyard so I that won't hate all the dirt flying around and landing on our deck and patio furniture.
I hate that I'm at work right now instead of lying by a pool somewhere.
I love pretty painted toe nails and capris.
I hate that our trampoline is sitting in a heap after the wind blew it over into the neighbor's yard.
I love that we finally got a new barbecue and the yummy steaks that were cooked on it last Sunday.
After seeing all the hates on this list, I figure maybe that's why I enjoy the Fall so much.

I love your list. So far my summer has been a lot of work and little play. Hopefully, there will be more playing to come.
I survived my camping experience with small children & have the guts to do it again, only to be followed up by a pedicure. Any takers?
